Concert: Ibrahim Keivo (Syria / Germany)

Saturday, 21 March 2026, 8:00 PM
Deutsche Evangelische Gemeinde im Haag
Bleijenburg 3 B, 2511 VC The Hague

This concert is part of the three-day event Van Damascus naar Den Haag (20–22 March 2026), organized in collaboration with Culture Unlimited.

21 March is also Newroz/Nowruz: the spring festival and (Kurdish) New Year. For many Syrians and people from the region, this day symbolizes a new beginning, light, and togetherness. That is precisely why this concert fits so well on this date: an evening full of music, memory, and connection.

Ibrahim Keivo is a Syrian-Armenian singer and multi-instrumentalist who brings the musical world of Mesopotamia to life. He sings in multiple languages and carries the traditions of various communities from Syria and the region. Keivo plays traditional string instruments such as the tar, saz, bağlama, rabab, buzuq, and oud. Expect a warm, intense concert in an intimate church acoustic, balancing tradition and improvisation.

Keivo has performed in major European concert halls such as the Elbphilharmonie, Alte Oper Frankfurt, and the Cologne Philharmonic, and has collaborated with international ensembles, including the NDR Bigband. His repertoire has also been presented at leading cultural institutions and festivals in Europe and the Arab world.
